Conflagration

Huracan and Hephaestus roar

spew forth their fury

remonstrating rage

reminiscent of days of yore

repercussions blaze

at the injustice

                        at the arrogance

at the almighty ignorance

tree nymphs and spirits shrivel

innocence sacrificed

                        martyred

to the selfish consummation

casualties of the self-absorbed

they wither into ash

                        raining needless deaths

in black pre-emptive night

Helios and Eos grieve

this demonic devastation

                        the unholy alchemy

of incessant power and greed

Crowing

color me raucous

as I squawk

struggle to float

amongst the quicksand

minutia of your

mendacities

how you demonize

my black

feather – ragged

protestations

           at my visage

now you quiver

sunken in the muck

no more

erumpent

blushing crow

triumphant

omen

of your

nevermore

With Clenched Fists, I Rage – A Collaborative Poem

Very proud to be a part of this impressive collaborative poem posted on Heretics Lovers and Madmen

Heretics, Lovers, and Madmen

I chew on my rage
breaking teeth
on its rock candy
hard edges
I resist
base reflex
to swallow these
jagged shards whole
instead
spitting blood
and shrapnel
hard
into
the unrelenting soil
of injustice

Christine E. Ray

My fist clenches unconsciously,
Noticing only when my knuckles pop.
They say peace and love
Will win the day,
While I’m possessed
By the spirit of Elijah,
Raining down fire,
Divine justice, and rage,
Filled with the desire
To bludgeon bigotry
With a baseball bat.

John W. Leys

Wretched causeway
Flotsam upon my eye
I stare into the mist in wonder
Will the serpent ever arise
Show me your face, foul beast
You tinker and toy with mortal men
Spewing hatred and obscenities with forked tongues
Crucifying anyone who stands firm against them
Justice beckons their immortal fear
Wielding the rocks, I guide my hands
Betwixt the evil and the cowardly
Is…

Lady Justice – A Collaborative Poem

I am so excited to once again join in a collaborative poem with insanely talented writers Christine Ray, Candice Louisa Daquin and Magha Sood.

Heretics, Lovers, and Madmen

we keep justice
sealed under
bell-shaped glass
and morality
locked in amber
on our pristine
mantelpieces
we dust them off
from time to time
novelties to be
displayed
nonchalantly
when discerning guests
come to call

Christine E. Ray

rest we now on our laurels?

weep, ye
lady liberty
/blind/
yet she sees
scales unbalanced
/hang/
justice
from the gallows

what say ye
from the gallery
/judge!/
when our pillars
are pilloried
/oh fair lady/
it’s balls to the walls
in our halls
/to restore?/
of

justice

Aurora Phoenix

Languish in dubious lassitude?

Times have changed now
who know for better or worse,
Justice now doesn’t depend on the
severity now
depends on the numbers being judged;
A lone cry in the night
doesn’t account for anything
unless it’s compounded
with hashtags and March
Justice is not only blind
but deaf these days
piercing us;
like shards of glasses
left alone…
